They Have No Voice. They Only Have You

Compassion doesn't need a common language. Join us in building a world where every creature is safe, loved, and respected.

At Sewa-Disha Foundation, we believe that animal welfare is not just about "saving" animals; it is about saving our own humanity. We stand as a barrier against cruelty and a bridge to a kinder co-existence. We don't just provide shelter; we provide dignity to those who have been forgotten.

We share this planet with millions of other beings, yet they often suffer in silence. Whether it is a stray dog navigating dangerous traffic, a working animal denied rest, or wildlife displaced by urban growth, their struggle is real and visible.

Our Philosophy - The Ethical Stance

The Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare Our work is guided by internationally recognized standards. We strive to ensure every animal under our care enjoys

  • Freedom from Hunger and Thirst Access to fresh water and a diet to maintain health.

  • Freedom from Discomfort Providing an appropriate environment, including shelter and a comfortable resting area.

  • Freedom from Pain, Injury, or Disease Prevention, rapid diagnosis, and treatment.

  • Freedom to Express Normal Behavior Sufficient space and proper facilities.

  • Freedom from Fear and Distress Ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering.

How We Protect

More Than Just a Shelter We operate a 360-degree welfare system:

  • Emergency Rescue A rapid-response ambulance network for injured or distressed animals.

  • Animal Birth Control Program Humane sterilization and vaccination drives to control the stray population scientifically and compassionately.

  • Adoption, Don't Shop We rigorously screen families to find forever homes for abandoned pets, prioritizing personality matches over breed.

  • Legal Advocacy Filing cases against animal cruelty and educating the police and public on Animal Protection Laws.

Be a Hero to a Furry Friend

You don't need a cape to save a life. You just need a big heart.

Frequently Asked Question ?

At Sewa-Disha Foundation, we believe that trust is built on open communication. Whether you are planning to donate, eager to volunteer, or simply curious about our mission, we want you to have complete clarity. We have compiled a list of the most common questions from our community to help you understand how your contribution—be it time or money—creates a real difference.

First, ensure your own safety. Do not approach a frightened animal suddenly as they may bite out of pain. Take a photo or video of the animal and the specific location (share live location if possible). Call our helpline or the nearest local NGO immediately. If safe to do so, place a bowl of water nearby and wait for the rescue team.

We primarily rescue and rehome Indian Native (Indie) dogs and cats. They are naturally adapted to our climate, have higher immunity, and fewer genetic health issues than foreign breeds. Occasionally, we do rescue abandoned breed dogs, but we encourage you to meet our Indies—they are just as loving and loyal

Gather evidence (photos/videos) discreetly. You can file a complaint at the local police station under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. You can also contact us; we have a legal cell that can guide you or file a complaint on your behalf if you wish to remain anonymous.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia by qualified veterinarians, so the animal feels no pain during the procedure. We provide post-operative care, painkillers, and antibiotics for 3-5 days to ensure they heal completely before release. Sterilized animals actually live longer, healthier lives.

It is required by law. According to Indian Animal Birth Control Rules, stray dogs cannot be permanently relocated. They must be released back into the exact territory they were picked up from. This preserves the ecological balance; if you remove one dog, another likely aggressive/unvaccinated dog will move in to take its territory.

Yes, SewaDisha Foundation is a registered non-profit. All donations towards animal welfare are eligible for tax exemption. You will receive a receipt for your records.

How To Work With Us

Emergency Rescue

01

Our "Free-Roaming Animal Ambulance" is the heartbeat of our operation. We provide rapid medical assistance to sick, injured, or accident-hit stray animals. Whether it's a fractured leg from a road accident or a severe skin infection, our veterinary team ensures that no call for help goes unanswered.

The ABC Program

02

The most humane way to reduce suffering is to manage the population. Our Animal Birth Control (ABC) program focuses on sterilizing and vaccinating stray dogs and cats. This stabilizes the population, reduces aggression, and eliminates the tragedy of homeless puppies dying on the streets.

Adoption Drive

03

We believe every animal deserves a soft bed and a kind hand. We actively work to take animals off the streets and place them into loving homes. We focus on "Indie" (Indian Pariah) dogs and cats, championing them as the hardy, loyal, and intelligent companions they are.
